Window Repair & Window Locks

Windows are one of the most common points of unauthorized entry if mechanisms become worn, loose, or outdated. At Cobbold Locksmiths, we offer prompt, cost-effective window repair services across Surrey and Sussex, fixing locks and hinges rather than forcing you to purchase expensive replacement windows.

uPVC Window Mechanism & Espag Repairs

If your window handle spins freely without disengaging the lock, or your window is jammed shut, the internal espagnolette gearbox or shootbolt mechanism has likely failed. We carry universal replacement espags and multi-point shootbolts to open jammed windows without damage and restore smooth locking operation on the spot.

Friction Stay Hinges & Draft Elimination

Are your windows sticking, whistling with drafts, or letting in water? Over time, friction hinges bend and rivets corrode. We replace worn friction stay hinges with high-grade stainless steel replacements, ensuring tight weather seals and smooth opening and closing.

Insurance-Approved Window Locks & Restrictors

Most home insurance policies require key-operated window locks on all accessible ground floor and basement windows. We supply and fit insurance-approved locks for timber casements, sash stops for sliding sash windows, and child safety restrictor catches to protect young children from accidental falls.
